RT-PCR test kits and VirSNiP Mutation Assays for strain surveillance
In early 2020 SARS-CoV-2 spread from Asia across the world causing the first major pandemic in a century. TIB Molbiol was one of the first companies to come to market, with a SARS testing kit and has been supplying COVID-19 PCR test kits since early January 2020. Over the last 12 months we have delivered over 60 million tests. Of particular concern are the different COVID-19 variants circulating worldwide. These variants have been reported to have increased infectivity, morbidity or mortality. We have developed a variety of VirSNiP Assays that detect the known mutations. These assays can be integrated into routine testing algorithms. Our R&D Department is constantly analyzing newly deposited SARS-CoV-2 sequences, for the presence of variants, that may affect the performance of our kits.

SARS RT-PCR test kits
Probe-based melting curve assays for testing for common mutations in the SARS genome, enabling screening for emerging strains such as B.1.1.7 (UK variant).
A high melting peak is an indication of the presence of the variant of interest. The 'wild type' sequence shows a peak with lower Tm; other variants are expected to yield even lower melting peaks.
IFU is for use with Roche 480 instruments. Other instrument with a SYBR Green melting curve capabilities can be used; programming should be adapted to a heating rate of approx 0.2°C / sec
